Would’ve never guessed that Shibas disliked water with this pictures!
I took my 2 Shibas to swim too, but it is not for physical therapy. I want them to try out swimming without freaking out, so I go to this doggie pool place and have a trainer going in water with them.
We have done this at least once or twice a week for a few weeks now and like yours, they will not jump into water themselves, but can swim in the water without splashing water everywhere (when panicking, they tend to paddle their front paws really hard above water, which makes the splashes and make them more nervous).

how did you train your shiba to like water???
he doesn’t “like” it, but he’s been going to this Flowdog place for physical therapy for a long time (close to a year) that he knows this is something he’s supposed to do. he’s a very good swimmer, but he doesn’t jump into water with joy or anything like that 🙂
